The Ad that I designed and art directed for the designerID launch campaign was selected as a Design Merit Award in the 2007 AIGA Origination Design Awards. The show, which honored all selected entries, was held on May 24, 2007 and was well attended. I should also mention that designers Noel Martin (Noel Martin Design) and Gordon Salchow (University of Cincinnati) received AIGA Fellow Awards. It was great to hear Gordon talk about the evolution of design education and specifically how UC's Design, Art, Architecture & Planning program came to be so well recognized. The judges for this years competition were Michael Hodgson of phD (Los Angeles), Monica Little of Little & Company (Minneapolis) and Christopher Simmons of MINE (San Francisco).
And for better or worse, the outcome of the global recession will be closer regulation of the world's economic and financial systems, for years to come.
